A Very Busy Christmas

Well, it's been a very busy month, and that's my excuse for the month of no posts. We had a great couple weeks in Wisconsin for Christmas and saw lots of family and had a gorgeous snow storm that stuck the trees for days. Hopefully everyone got their Maggie fill, because we won't be heading back until mid-March (when John goes to Texas with the baseball team for spring break). We won't be standing still until then, though.

John is insanely busy now: teaching during the day, coaching at night and on the weekends, recruiting and preparing for the summer team in his free time, and now reading and taking his master's classes somewhere in there, too. Needless to say, he doesn't get to see Maggie as much, so he takes the time to treasure the little moments he has with her.

Maggie and I are planning a couple trips in the next few months aside from Wisconsin in March. We are thinking about heading to Denver for a week in February, partly to overlap with
Sue and Owen's visit to see Karen and part to overlap with John's games in Denver. Hopefully in that time we can stop by the many friends and family in the area. We might also tag along with John on some of his away baseball games, Kansas City, possibly. We definitely won't get bored.

I know I've said it before, but every day gets more and more fun with Maggie. She is really cruising down furniture (and from one piece of furniture to the next) and she finally starting talking. It is mostly "dada"s, but she wasn't saying anything for so long, it's fun to hear her voice. Her personality is so much fun; I can't get enough and feel so blessed to be able to stay home with her every day.

Since it has been a month, there are a lot of pictures to catch up on. I do apologize if they seem like repeats, but I just can't get enough of her!

What a monkey!
She reads so well. Now, we have to work on holding the book right side up.
Maggie, the greatest present of all.
What a diva!

As we expected, Maggie was more interested in the wrapping paper than the gifts.
Maggie was mesmorized by my cousins, Amanda and Brooke, and sat just watching them run around. You could tell she wanted to run with them.
Maggie in a sea of gifts, most of which were for her.

Maggie's first Christmas cookie.
The whole Meulendyke family with 2 babies this year!
Maggie in her Christmas dress.
It was insanely, bitterly cold while we were in Wisconsin; so, Maggie was really bundled up.

Look at those cheeks!

My mom called Maggie stingy with her giggles, but lately they seem to be coming a little more easily.

I got Maggie a bath mat, so she has free reign of the tub during bath time. She loves her baths even more, now!

Maggie's favorite pasttime: pulling all of the cds and dvds off the shelf. I'm getting pretty sick of picking them up!
