My little Picasso!
Caroline hiding behind the forest of bottles.

The next day, Saturday, we packed up Amelia (a friend of Lara's) car and headed to the mountains. Thinking we would never find a campsite Saturday afternoon Labor Day weekend, we were ready for disappointment. Instead, we got the mother of all campsites. Never, ever will I ever be lucky enough to spend a night at a campsite as great as this again.
Camping isn't camping without good music. Although Caroline's music was questionable at times.
Our garbage area, had to keep them away from the bears!
Lara and I put this tent up in less time than it took the other 3 put up their tent.
Of the over 150 pictures I took this weekend, here are a few of the best of the view from our campsite.

We may have been peeing in the woods, but we had champagne!
Lara, Sarah, Caroline, and Amelia
Yes, we also had Modelo. Don't you wish you were there! (This was after the Leinie's ran out.)

Lara explaining the best technique.
Lara, the Sausage Queen!
Caroline and her fabulous fire skills!
This is the life!
Three trees worth of wood for one night of camping. Maybe we were a little over zealous with our firewood "borrowing."
The following morning, we had a phenomonal sunrise. Again, the best of the best...

Yes, I risked life and limb climbing a tree in my flip flops to get the sunrise pictures.
Goodbye Rocky Mountains!

A couple weeks after our Colorado fun, John, Maggie, and I headed back to Wisconsin for a family wedding. We spent the long weekend at the Meulendyke's and enjoyed the family time.

Maggie's crazy morning bed head.
Apparently the crazy hair runs in the family.
The Meulendyke girls at the wedding.
The Meulendyke boys.
Maggie was, without a doubt, the cutest ever at this wedding. She thrives in this sort of environment. She had tons of people to watch and "talk" to and room to run.
Maggie and Aunt Karen. Look at the adorable bow! Thanks Aunt Sue!
Daddy, Maggie, and Uncle Jim.

Maggie was mesmorized by the band. She would just stand and stare at the singers.
And occassionally, they would sing to her.
She was a dancing machine! It was amazing to see her so happy and having so much fun! I hope I never forget this night and how wonderful Maggie was.
Heading straight for the whiskey, is she a Meulendyke or what?

The following morning, John, Maggie, and Karen went out to get bagels and donuts. Maggie loves donuts!

Back at home, it was back to normal with walks to the park. On this particular day we happened to meet Maggie's new friend at the park. Carolyn is one day younger than Maggie, and they get along extremely well! It's Maggie's first friend!
May Bear taking a ride on Maggie's shoulders.
Maggie loves to hang out at the Seward Bandshell, especially with Mr. Bear.

But normally, Mr. Bear gets left behind somewhere.

And often, Maggie tries to eat the old sunflower seeds.
The steps are the perfect size for a Maggie seat.

The following weekend, we were back in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, this time for a funeral. John's Grandma Romens passed away, rather unexpectedly. The weekend was very nice, and everyone seemed to be doing very well.
Back at home again, Maggie and I have been a good amount of biking, now that we have the bike Burley and a helmet. Maggie loves going for rides, so much so that she gets really upset if she sees the cart and can't get in. She even wore her helmet around the apartment for a while last night, I think, hoping that we would go for a ride.
